Slow Horses Season 5: Spy Drama’s Triumphant Return Brings New Mysteries to Slough House
Award-Winning Espionage Series Continues to Captivate
Apple TV+ is set to premiere the fifth season of their Emmy and BAFTA Award-winning espionage drama ‘Slow Horses,’ starring Academy Award winner Gary Oldman, on September 24, 2025. The series has established itself as one of streaming’s most compelling offerings, with its unique take on the spy genre.
New Season, New Mysteries
The fifth season, adapted from the novel ‘London Rules,’ follows an intriguing premise where suspicious events begin to unfold when the team’s tech expert Roddy Ho suddenly appears with a glamorous new girlfriend. As bizarre occurrences multiply across London, the Slow Horses must piece together how everything is connected. As Jackson Lamb knows all too well, in espionage, the London Rules – cover your back – always apply.
The stellar cast continues to be led by Gary Oldman as Jackson Lamb, alongside Kristin Scott Thomas, Jack Lowden, and Jonathan Pryce. Adding to the excitement, Nick Mohammed of ‘Ted Lasso’ fame will make a special guest appearance this season.
Critical Acclaim and Achievement
Since its debut in April 2022, ‘Slow Horses’ has garnered significant critical acclaim, earning Emmy nominations for best drama series and best lead actor for Oldman. The show secured an Emmy in 2024 for best writing in a drama. Remarkably, with the launch of Season 5, the series will have produced five seasons in approximately three and a half years.
The future of the series is already secure, with Apple TV+ having renewed it through Season 7. The show will see some behind-the-scenes changes as creator Will Smith hands over the reins to Gaby Chiappe for Season 6, while ‘All Creatures Great and Small’ creator Ben Vanstone will take charge for Season 7.
