New Season Takes Flight

The RAF Red Arrows have launched their 2025 display season with official approval to perform for the public, featuring an exciting new display with more challenging formations, loops and rolls.

The team is set for a packed schedule, with more than 60 displays and major flypasts planned across the United Kingdom and mainland Europe between May and October.

2025 Display Highlights

Squadron Leader Jon Bond, the team leader, has revealed that the 2025 display will showcase challenging shapes, including the Big Battle arrival, Swan Loop, and Typhoon Roll. The first half of the 23-minute show features the team’s longest and widest formations, including the Big Vixen performed with extended air brakes at almost full power.

The distinctive 5/4 Split returns with a new red, white and blue color scheme. The second half introduces new manoeuvres by the team’s rear section, known as Hanna, including the new Chainsaw move where a pair of jets fly upside down, head-to-head at 380mph, while two other aircraft cross just 30-metres apart.

Notable Show Locations

One of the season’s highlights will be the 32nd Clacton Airshow on August 21-22, where the Red Arrows will headline both days. Aviation enthusiasts will also have two opportunities to see the team at Ayr’s Low Green, with displays scheduled for September 5 and 6.

Team Excellence

The Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team, the Red Arrows, maintains its position as one of the world’s premier aerobatic display teams. They represent the speed, agility and precision of the Royal Air Force, serving as the public face of the service while assisting in recruiting and acting as ambassadors for the United Kingdom both domestically and internationally.

As the team emphasizes, “Teamwork and professionalism are key to everything we do, be it display flying, flypasts or ground events. We take pride in donning our red and blue suits to inspire, entertain and engage audiences in the UK and overseas.”
