A New Chapter for Poland’s Rising Star

Robert Ruchała, a 27-year-old Polish professional mixed martial artist, officially signed with the UFC in June 2025, marking a significant milestone in his career. Currently competing in the UFC’s Featherweight division, Ruchała brings an impressive background to the world’s premier MMA organization.

From KSW Champion to UFC Prospect

A former KSW champion and long-time top European prospect, Ruchała entered the UFC with considerable high-level experience, having already proven himself against several quality opponents. His only career setback came against Salahdine Parnasse, who is widely considered one of the best fighters outside the UFC.

While primarily known as a grappler, Ruchała has shown versatility in his fighting style, often choosing to test himself in striking exchanges. His striking style is characterized by out-fighting tactics, constant movement, and effective use of kicks to manage distance. He demonstrates technical sophistication by mixing his targets and chaining roundhouse kicks into spinning techniques.

UFC Debut Performance

In his UFC debut on September 6, 2025, Ruchała faced William Gomis in an entertaining and competitive featherweight clash. While Gomis proved to be the faster and sharper striker, utilizing long-range weapons and body attacks, Ruchała showed his resilience and power by wobbling his opponent with a high kick in the third round.

The fight went the distance, with Gomis ultimately securing a unanimous decision victory (30-27, 29-28, 29-28).

Future Prospects

While Ruchała shows promise, analysts note both his strengths and areas for improvement. His grappling remains his strongest asset, though his striking technique needs refinement. Despite these challenges, he is expected to maintain a position in the UFC as a tough, durable competitor who could potentially hover just outside the rankings.
