Noel Fielding Silences Exit Rumours: Confirmed to Return as Great British Bake Off Host in 2025
Beloved Host’s Return Confirmed Amid Speculation
Representatives for Noel Fielding have officially confirmed his return as co-host of The Great British Bake Off in 2025, shutting down speculation about his departure. His spokesperson emphasized that there has been “absolutely no discussion about Noel stepping down from Bake Off.”
The comedian has been an integral part of the show since its move to Channel 4 in 2017, marking what will be his eighth year in the tent in 2025.
Recent Challenges and Speculation
Questions about Fielding’s future on the show arose following the revelation that his Apple TV+ comedy ‘The Completely Made-Up Adventures Of Dick Turpin’ was scrapped after he pulled out approximately three-quarters of the way through the shoot.
According to sources close to the Dick Turpin production, the decision to halt filming wasn’t taken lightly. As reported by the Times UK, “Noel has said that he can’t film anymore and so there was no choice but to stop… People have been very concerned about Noel’s well-being and given him time to recover.”
Looking Ahead to the New Season
The Great British Bake Off is scheduled to premiere in the UK on Tuesday, September 2, with Paul Hollywood, Prue Leith, Noel Fielding, and Alison Hammond all confirmed to return.
The new season will welcome 12 fresh competitors, ranging in age from 23 to 59, including “a scientist, an engineer, and a medical student.” The diverse lineup also features “an amateur drag king, a pickled food fanatic, two hairdressers, and a blue belt in jiujitsu.”
The show maintains its unique format where contestants compete not for cash prizes, but for flowers, a cake stand, and peer recognition at the end of each season.
