Major Career Transition for BBC Veteran

Nina Warhurst is departing BBC Breakfast after a successful 7-year tenure, where she began reporting in 2018 before becoming the show’s lead business presenter in 2020.

The significant career move was announced on March 10, 2025, with Warhurst set to join the News at One team from April 2025. The announcement came through Richard Frediani, who serves as editor for both BBC Breakfast and BBC’s News at One.

Distinguished Career in Journalism

Warhurst has established herself as a versatile BBC journalist with extensive experience in business, politics, and international reporting. Her impressive career includes interviewing three Prime Ministers at Downing Street, and her journalism has taken her across the globe, including assignments in Russia, Argentina, Brazil, Azerbaijan, Israel, and the West Bank.

During her time at BBC Breakfast, she served as the show’s main business presenter from Monday to Wednesday, earning recognition for her analytical reporting on economic trends and ability to simplify complex financial matters. Her work has been acknowledged with RTS Awards for business journalism and contributions to consumer awareness.

New Chapter at News at One

In her new role, Warhurst will be taking over from Anna Foster, who has fronted the News at One since May 2024. Foster is moving to BBC Radio 4’s Today programme as one of the main presenters, following Mishal Husain’s departure in December.

As one of the BBC’s most recognisable voices in finance and consumer affairs, Warhurst brings far more than headlines – she delivers accessible, engaging, and insightful content. Her versatility and adaptability as a journalist and presenter enable her to navigate complex topics and deliver content in an engaging and accessible way.
