Literary Legend’s Continued Innovation

Michael Rosen, the renowned English children’s author, poet, presenter, political columnist, broadcaster, activist, and academic, has written over 200 books for children and adults. As a professor of children’s literature at Goldsmiths, University of London, he continues to shape the literary landscape in 2025.

New Publications and Collaborations

After a long-anticipated reunion, Rosen has collaborated once again with illustrator Helen Oxenbury for their second children’s book together, coming this September. Their new work, ‘Oh Dear, Look What I Got!’ follows a boy’s amusing journey as he visits various shops, receiving unexpected animal companions instead of his intended purchases.

Festival Appearances and Public Events

Rosen is set to headline the Morecambe Poetry Festival this autumn, taking place between September 12 and 14. The festival will feature three nights of poetry, with Rosen leading a stellar lineup of literary stars. The event will include grassroots performances, family activities, workshops, poetry takeovers, and open mics.

World Book Day 2025

The Children’s Bookshow is organizing a special live, online event with Rosen for World Book Day on Thursday 6th March. In ‘Michael Rosen’s Request Show,’ he will perform some of his ‘greatest hits’ and beloved poems, as requested by the audience. Schools can submit their favorite poem requests in advance, and the digital performance will include live interaction with pupils.

Recent Recognition

Rosen’s contributions to literature continue to receive acclaim, having won the 2023 PEN Pinter Prize from English PEN. The award recognizes writers of ‘outstanding literary merit’ who take an ‘unflinching’ look at the world, with judges praising Rosen’s ability to address serious life matters with joy, humor, and hope.
