Rise to Prominence

Michael Olise joined Bayern Munich in July 2024 on a five-year contract for a reported €60m including add-ons. The 23-year-old has enjoyed his best season to date, scoring 12 goals and providing 15 assists in the Bundesliga during 2024/25, improving significantly from his previous record of 10 goals and six assists at Crystal Palace.

Current Impact and Performance

At 23, Olise has established himself as one of Europe’s brightest talents, with his performances commanding significant attention and potentially substantial transfer fees. His technical abilities continue to improve, with his shooting accuracy increasing from 58.3% in the 23/24 Premier League season to 62.1% in the 24/25 Bundesliga.

International Recognition

Olise earned his first call-up to the senior France national team under Didier Deschamps, making his debut against Italy at the Parc des Princes. He has since scored his first international goal in a 2-0 victory over Croatia in the Nations League quarter-finals, where he also provided an assist.

Future Prospects

Liverpool has identified Olise as a key transfer priority for 2026, particularly as they look to replace both Salah and van Dijk. The talented winger is considered ‘the total package’ and could be at the top of Liverpool’s transfer list. Any potential deal could cost around €100 million, with Olise being lined up as a replacement for Mohamed Salah, who will turn 34 next year.
