Television host and chef Matt Tebbutt has been announced as the new judge on MasterChef: The Professionals, where he will join existing judges Marcus Wareing and Monica Galetti on the panel for the 18th series of the cooking competition programme.
Background and Experience
Tebbutt, a British chef and television food presenter, brings substantial culinary expertise to the role, having trained at Leiths School of Food and Wine in London and worked at some of London’s most prestigious restaurants, including under Marco Pierre White at the Oak Room and Criterion, and alongside Alastair Little, whom he cites as his greatest influence.
His television career includes hosting Food Unwrapped on Channel 4, regularly presenting Saturday Kitchen, and co-presenting various shows including Christmas Kitchen for BBC One and Save Money: Good Food for ITV alongside Susanna Reid.
The New Role
Speaking about his new position, Tebbutt expressed that it was “an absolute honour” to work alongside Wareing and Galetti, whom he described as “titans of the food world.” He looked forward to them taking him under their wing and seeing the chefs compete in the competition.
Marcus Wareing welcomed Tebbutt to the team, praising his experience both on screen and in the industry. Wareing emphasized that the show focuses on showcasing and celebrating the best up-and-coming talent from professional kitchens, with high standards expected from competing chefs.
