The Tragic Plot Unfolds

What began as a seemingly normal morning in Oak Cliff, Dallas, turned tragic when Jamie Faith, a 49-year-old American Airlines technology director, left his home with his wife Jennifer for their daily dog walk. The couple had just celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary the night before.

Jamie was shot seven times in a shocking attack. The shooter was soon identified as Darrin Lopez of Tennessee, with whom Jennifer Faith had been exchanging hundreds of text messages daily. Federal investigators later revealed that Jennifer had manipulated Lopez into believing, falsely, that her husband was physically and sexually abusing her, convincing him to commit the murder.

A Web of Deception

Jennifer Faith, a 49-year-old former hospital administrator and licensed speech pathologist, made tearful appearances on local television pleading for help in finding the killer – all while knowing the gunman’s identity. Lopez, a disabled Iraq War veteran, had been Jennifer’s high school sweetheart, with whom she was having an ’emotional affair.’

While publicly grieving her husband’s murder, Jennifer Faith was privately engaging in phone sex with Lopez and sharing intimate fantasies. She collected thousands of dollars from sympathetic friends through a GoFundMe campaign, which instead of helping her grieving daughter, was spent on lavish gifts for Lopez as they planned their future together.

Justice Served

In February 2022, Jennifer Faith pleaded guilty to a federal murder-for-hire charge and was sentenced to life in prison. During her sentencing hearing, U.S. District Judge Jane Boyle did not mince words, telling Faith, ‘You are pure evil. Not to mention disgusting.’

The court ordered Jennifer to pay $6,500 in restitution to her late husband’s family to cover funeral expenses and a $250,000 fine.

The case continues to evolve as Darrin Lopez, now seeking leniency on his 62-year murder conviction, claims he was manipulated by Jennifer Faith who convinced him her husband was abusive.
