Jasveen Sangha: ‘Ketamine Queen’ Admits Guilt in Matthew Perry’s Fatal Overdose Case

Jasveen Sangha, known as the ‘Ketamine Queen’, has pleaded guilty to five federal counts related to the fatal overdose of ‘Friends’ actor Matthew Perry in 2023. The Los Angeles woman now faces a maximum prison sentence of 65 years, according to federal prosecutors in California.
The Fatal Transaction
According to her plea agreement, Sangha collaborated with Erik Fleming to distribute ketamine to Perry, whose struggles with addiction were well documented. In October 2023, they sold 51 vials of ketamine which were provided to Kenneth Iwamasa, Perry’s live-in personal assistant. Iwamasa subsequently administered the ketamine to Perry, including at least three injections on October 28, 2023, which ultimately led to the actor’s death.
Background and Additional Charges
Sangha’s story begins in Calabasas, where she was born around 1983. She grew up in an upscale community known for its affluent families and proximity to Los Angeles’ entertainment world. Her parents were entrepreneurs who owned a franchise business, providing her with a stable, middle-class upbringing.
During a March 2023 law enforcement search of her residence, authorities discovered a substantial cache of illegal substances, including 3.7 pounds of pressed pills containing methamphetamine, 79 vials of liquid ketamine, MDMA tablets, counterfeit Xanax pills, cocaine, and various drug trafficking paraphernalia. She has admitted to using her North Hollywood home as a base for storing, packaging, and distributing narcotics since at least June 2019.
Legal Proceedings and Implications
Sangha is the last of five defendants, including two physicians, to plead guilty in the case. Her attorney, Mark Geragos, stated that his client is now ‘taking responsibility for her actions.’ Media coverage has intensified, with outlets like BBC and Reuters reporting on her potential sentence of up to 45 years.
