Historic Return to Vienna Marks Major Expansion

The Longines Global Champions Tour is making a triumphant return to Vienna after a nine-year hiatus, with events scheduled from September 26-28, 2025, at the stunning Schönbrunn Palace. This prestigious return is set to captivate both equestrian enthusiasts and sports fans alike.

Season Highlights and Venues

The 2025 season kicks off at the prestigious Al Shaqab in Doha, bringing together elite riders competing for individual glory in the LGCT Championship, alongside an intensely competitive GCL team lineup.

One of the season’s highlights will be the Paris leg, taking place from June 20-22 at the iconic Champ de Mars, with the Eiffel Tower providing a magnificent backdrop for the world’s finest horses and riders.

Enhanced Competition Format

The tour has implemented significant changes for 2025, with Sports Director Marco Danese emphasizing horse welfare as the top priority. The GCL competition will now take place on Day 1 at most events, allowing better preparation and recovery time for the horses.

Season Finale

The tour will conclude with two major events: the finals in Riyadh from October 30 to November 1, followed by the prestigious GC Playoffs in Prague from November 20-23. The 2025 season promises to be an epic journey, combining top-tier equestrian sport with some of the world’s most breathtaking locations.

Following an active off-season marked by team transfers and new signings, the 2025 season is positioned to be one of the most competitive in GCL history. The competition format features Round 1 and Round 2 of the team series on the same day, with no drop score, creating an intense championship battle.
