Controversial Claims Surface About Queen Frontman’s Hidden Child

A new book titled ‘Love, Freddie’ scheduled for publication in September 2025 is set to shock millions of Queen fans worldwide with claims about Freddie Mercury’s secret daughter.

According to the revelations, the existence of Mercury’s daughter was allegedly known only to his closest circle, including his parents, sister, fellow Queen band members, and Mary Austin. The child was reportedly conceived during a relationship with the wife of a close friend while he was away on an extended business trip. The arrangement was kept strictly private from the public eye.

The Daughter’s Story

The daughter, referred to only as ‘B’ in the book, currently lives in Europe where she works as a medical professional and is herself a mother. According to the book’s author, Mercury was ‘a hands-on, devoted dad’ who described fatherhood as ‘the fulfilment of his most cherished ambition and the greatest blessing of his life.’

Strong Denials from Inner Circle

However, Mary Austin, 74, who Mercury described as ‘the love of his life’, has expressed ‘total disbelief’ about the claims. Austin stated that ‘Freddie had a glorious openness’ and she couldn’t imagine him keeping such a joyful event secret from those closest to him.

Austin felt compelled to speak out ‘for Freddie, who is not here to speak for himself.’ The skepticism is shared by others close to Mercury, including Anita Dobson, wife of Queen guitarist Brian May, who called it ‘inconceivable’ that Mercury would have a child unknown to them.

Verification and Legacy

Questions have been raised about DNA verification of the claims. While the book’s publishers, Whitefox, state they take ‘issues of accuracy, legality and ethics seriously,’ Austin has noted there was no provision in Mercury’s will for ‘any kind of secret trust.’ She has urged the publishers to rigorously investigate the veracity of the claims.
