A Historic Season Takes Shape

The 2025 Formula 1 season will be a landmark year as the sport celebrates its 75th Anniversary, featuring 24 incredible venues worldwide that promise to deliver top-class racing, hospitality, and entertainment to millions of fans globally.

Calendar Highlights and Key Changes

The season kicks off in Australia (March 14-16), followed by China (March 21-23). The calendar’s geographical flow has been improved, with Japan hosting the third event (April 4-6), before moving to Bahrain (April 11-13) and Saudi Arabia (April 18-20). The latter two races were rescheduled due to Ramadan occurring throughout March.

Sprint Format Evolution

The 2025 season marks the fifth year of the Sprint format, with six circuits hosting these special events. China and Miami return for their second consecutive Sprint weekends, while Austin and Qatar will host their third Sprint events. Belgium makes a comeback to the Sprint lineup for the first time since 2023, and Brazil maintains its distinction of hosting a Sprint every year since the format’s introduction in 2021.

Strategic Race Clustering

After the Miami Grand Prix in May, the calendar focuses primarily on European races before transitioning to Azerbaijan (September 19-21) and Singapore (October 3-5). The season concludes with races in the Americas, followed by back-to-back events in Qatar (November 28-30) and Abu Dhabi (December 5-7).

Sustainable Innovations

The calendar demonstrates significant improvements in geographical efficiency, particularly with the Canadian Grand Prix following Miami, enabling direct equipment transfer between events. The European leg has been consolidated, featuring the final Dutch Grand Prix and introducing Madrid’s new circuit, before the championship moves to Asia and concludes with a triple header in the Americas, followed by the season-ending races in Qatar and Abu Dhabi.

The season will see Max Verstappen pursuing his fifth consecutive drivers’ title, a feat only previously achieved by Michael Schumacher, while McLaren, fresh from their first Constructors’ Championship since 1998, will see Lando Norris aiming for drivers’ glory after finishing second to Verstappen in the previous season.
