The department has also released the draft version of Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) 2025, marking a significant shift toward active digital risk management. Higher Education and Future Planning
In higher education, the DfE has announced reduced tuition fees for classroom-based foundation years courses to £5,760 from the 2025-26 academic year, aimed at more efficient course delivery and lower student costs. The department is also preparing to launch the Lifelong Learning Entitlement (LLE) in 2026-27, a transformation of the student finance system designed to expand access to high-quality, flexible education and support the government’s industrial strategy.
