A New Chapter in Reality TV History

The Celebrity Traitors, a highly anticipated spin-off of the British version of the reality television series The Traitors, is set to premiere on BBC One in October 2025. The show was first confirmed by the BBC in August 2024, along with two more series of the original format.

In this groundbreaking new series, 19 celebrities will enter the castle to compete in the ultimate game of detection and backstabbing, with contestants playing for a chance to win £100,000 for their chosen charity.

Star-Studded Cast

The impressive lineup includes renowned figures such as Stephen Fry, Alan Carr, Jonathan Ross, David Olusoga, Clare Balding, Nick Mohammed, Tom Daley, Paloma Faith, Celia Imrie, Kate Garraway, Cat Burns, Charlotte Church, Ruth Codd, Tameka Empson, Lucy Beaumont, Joe Wilkinson, Mark Bonnar, Niko Omilana, and Joe Marler.

The competition will take place at Ardross Castle in the Scottish Highlands, where the ‘faithful’ players must detect and eliminate ‘traitors,’ who each evening banish others from the competition. The ultimate winner will secure £100,000 for their chosen charity.

High Stakes and Drama

Host Claudia Winkleman has already teased viewers about what to expect, stating: “We’re incredibly lucky these brilliant people have said yes,” while warning that they won’t be taking it easy on the celebrities, dismissing any notion of them simply wandering around the castle eating toast for weeks.

The BBC and producer Studio Lambert have secured an impressive caliber of celebrities for this new venture. The series is currently filming and will air this October, positioning it as a core part of BBC One’s programming in the run-up to the Christmas period.

A Cultural Phenomenon

The Traitors has established itself as the BBC’s breakout watercooler hit of this decade, attracting millions of viewers each night and making a significant impact on popular culture. The celebrity edition will unfold over nine episodes, promising to bring new dimensions to the already successful format.

Unlike the U.S. version, which has previously mixed famous faces with members of the public, this marks the first time the UK version has featured an all-celebrity cast, officially titled ‘The Celebrity Traitors.’
