London’s Premier Southeast Asian Festival Returns

London’s largest South East Asian festival, CelebrASIA, is set to transform Battersea Power Station into a vibrant cultural hub from September 5-7, 2025. The three-day festival, which is free to enter, builds upon its successful launch in 2024.

Cultural Celebrations and Innovations

New for 2025, the festival introduces an exciting film screening series, showcasing both contemporary and classic South East Asian films, adding a cinematic dimension to the cultural experience.

A major highlight is the new Feasting Tent, offering elevated dining experiences along the River Thames. Visitors can enjoy four-course menus designed by London’s finest South East Asian chefs, including Budgie Montaya, Abby Lee, and John & Desiree Chantarasak from London’s only Michelin-starred Thai restaurant, AngloThai.

Immersive Cultural Experiences

The Power Station’s historic Turbine Halls will host an artisan market featuring over 30 independent traders, including Baju by Oniatta, a sustainable Singaporean fashion label founded by festival ambassador Oniatta Effendi, and Yi craft from Yunnan, showcasing distinctive Bai ethnic designs.

The expanded cultural programme includes hands-on workshops for all ages, where visitors can try everything from lantern making and batik painting to storytelling and shadow puppet creation.

Entertainment and Activities

The Power Station Park main stage will feature diverse live performances from Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Vietnam, celebrating the vibrancy of South East Asian culture.

Malaysia Square will host traditional South East Asian games and a Breaking Masterclass by B-Boy Sunni for young participants aged 8-16.

Significance and Impact

Following last year’s successful inaugural event, the festival represents a significant collaboration with the High Commissions and Embassies of the 10 ASEAN member countries in London. The event aims to provide visitors with an immersive experience of South East Asian cultural heritage, establishing itself as a must-visit cultural festival in London.
