Bluey’s Global Success Continues with Record-Breaking Streaming Numbers and Exciting New Projects

Unprecedented Streaming Success
Disney+’s animated children’s program ‘Bluey’ has achieved remarkable success, topping all U.S. household TV streamed content with an impressive 25 billion minutes viewed across 154 episodes in the first six months of 2025. This viewing figure puts the show on pace to match last year’s total of 55.62 billion minutes, with Bluey maintaining its presence in Nielsen’s streaming ratings for 143 consecutive weeks, dating back to October 2022.
Expanding Universe
BBC Studios is launching new content in 2025 under the theme ‘Let’s Play Chef,’ including two food-focused series: Bluey Cookalongs and Bluey Fancy Restaurant. These new 10-episode series will feature real families recreating recipes and dining experiences inspired by the show.
In a groundbreaking development, Disney announced that Bluey characters will appear at various Disney experiences, including the Disneyland Resort in California, Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, and Disney Cruise Line ships from Australia and New Zealand – making Bluey the first non-Disney-owned children’s show to feature in Disney theme parks.
Future Projects
A theatrical movie is officially scheduled for release on August 6, 2027. Series creator Joe Brumm is stepping away from the TV series to focus on the film, which will be produced by Ludo Studio in collaboration with BBC Studios.
The franchise continues to expand into new territories, with a recently announced partnership with Lego launching in June 2025, encompassing both Duplo and +4 ranges. The impact of Bluey’s success is significant, with projections indicating it will contribute AU$16 million to Brisbane’s local economy in 2025.
