Women’s Team Breaking New Ground
A historic milestone awaits the club as their Senior Women’s team prepares to make their debut in the UEFA Women’s Champions League, with their first match scheduled against Cardiff City FC Women. This follows their remarkable achievement of securing their first-ever SSE Airtricity Women’s Premier Division title with a 2-0 victory over Bohemians at Athlone Town Stadium, with Madison Gibson and Kellie Brennan scoring the decisive goals.
Men’s Team’s Current Campaign
The club continues to strengthen its squad, with recent signings including Izzy Groves, a central midfielder who joined from London City Lionesses for the 2025 season. The men’s team has shown promising form, recently securing an important victory against Finn Harps with goals from Ben Feeney and Gideon Tetteh.
Youth Development Success
The club’s commitment to youth development has paid off, with the Athlone Town Under-19s winning the Tier 1 League, finishing ahead of Shelbourne FC by a 4-point margin. The club’s academy continues to show promise, with both WU17 and WU19 sides progressing to their respective Cup Finals.
