A Triumphant Return to BBC One

The Great British Sewing Bee’s eleventh series premiered on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at 9 pm on BBC One, bringing fresh energy and creativity to the beloved crafting competition.

Host and Judge Lineup

The show welcomes back Sara Pascoe as host, with veteran judges Esme Young and Patrick Grant returning to their roles. The judging panel brings impressive credentials: Patrick Grant has previously directed bespoke tailors Norton & Sons of Savile Row and currently leads Community Clothing, while Esme Young is renowned for co-founding Swanky Modes in the 1970s and designing costumes for iconic films like Bridget Jones’ Diary and Trainspotting.

New Setting and Format

The show continues filming at its established location of Sunny Bank Mills in Farsley, Leeds – a historic textile mill dating back to the 19th century. First opened in 1829 and operating until 2008, it has served as the show’s home since series eight in 2022.

Current Season Highlights

The current season features a diverse group of contestants, including scientists, entertainers, and construction workers. The competition began with challenging tasks, including a tie-front blouse pattern challenge where judges evaluated neat gathers, peplum shape, and fabric selection.

Looking Ahead

The 2025 series will conclude on Tuesday, September 16, at 9pm, though viewers face a tough choice as it will air against The Great British Bake Off. Fans can catch up on all episodes via BBC iPlayer or the Sky Go app, with all past eight series also available for streaming.
