Enhanced Security and Protection
Teams has introduced new security features, including the ability to detect and warn users about malicious URLs in chats and channels. When suspicious links are detected, the platform automatically displays warnings to both senders and recipients, helping users make safer decisions before clicking potentially harmful links.
Additionally, Teams now blocks messages containing unsafe file types in chats and channels to reduce the risk of file-based attacks. Recipients will see a notification about blocked messages but cannot access the content, while senders can edit and resend messages without the unsafe files.
AI Integration and Copilot Advances
A significant upgrade has been implemented with the integration of GPT-5, OpenAI’s newest AI system, which is now rolling out to Copilot across Microsoft 365. The rollout began on August 7, 2025.
IT administrators can now upload custom dictionaries for Copilot in Teams, ensuring that meeting transcripts and Intelligent Recap reflect organization-specific terminology.
Calendar and Communication Updates
