Tourism Boom and Digital Innovation

Bali is experiencing an extraordinary tourism year, with projections indicating more than 7 million international arrivals by the end of 2025. The island has witnessed consistent growth in foreign tourist arrivals, with July 2025 marking the highest influx so far this year, recording 697,107 international travelers – a 9.29 percent increase from June.

A significant development is the introduction of the All Indonesia App on September 1, 2025, which streamlines multiple travel steps on a single platform, enhancing convenience during arrival and maintaining Bali’s global reputation.

Sustainable Tourism Initiatives

While targeting 6.5 million foreign visitors in 2025, the administration is prioritizing responsible tourism over uncontrolled mass arrivals, positioning Bali as a sustainable, ethical, and culturally immersive destination. The implementation of a Rp150,000 tourism levy supports local conservation efforts and infrastructure maintenance, reinforcing Bali’s commitment to quality over quantity in tourism.

Market Dynamics and Visitor Demographics

Australia continues to lead as the top source of tourists, contributing 161,051 arrivals in July, followed by significant numbers from China (59,651), India (45,288), France (38,460), and South Korea (38,275). French visitors showed remarkable growth with a 60.70 percent increase from June.

Future Developments

Plans are underway for a new international airport in Bali’s northern region, with a £2.4 billion project aimed at accommodating 20 million passengers annually. This development is expected to enhance Bali’s capacity to handle increasing tourist numbers and stimulate economic growth in surrounding regions.

With 3.98 million international arrivals from January to July 2025, marking a 12.46 percent increase compared to 2024, Bali’s strong appeal as a prime travel destination continues to attract visitors from around the world.
