A Landmark Year for UK’s Largest Arena

Co-op Live, Manchester’s groundbreaking indoor arena located in the Etihad Campus, has established itself as the UK’s premier entertainment venue, featuring 32 bars, restaurants and lounges, and boasting the largest floor space of any comparable UK arena.

Since its opening in May 2024, the venue has demonstrated remarkable success, selling over 1.1 million tickets and generating more than $115 million in gross revenues, surpassing both Madrid’s Movistar Arena and London’s O2 in terms of ticket sales revenue.

Sustainable Innovation and Local Impact

The venue has created 3,350 construction jobs and promises 1,000 more roles and apprenticeships. As the UK’s first Net Zero Scope 1 and 2 venue, it operates on all-electric power, features rainwater collection, and maintains a zero landfill waste policy, making it one of Europe’s most sustainable venues.

The project has maintained strong local ties, with approximately 80% of construction work completed by businesses from Manchester and the Northwest region. Nearly £200 million of the funding has been invested directly in the local community.

Star-Studded Future

The venue’s upcoming calendar features an impressive lineup of global artists, including Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band performing three nights in May 2025, Olivia Rodrigo’s exclusive UK indoor shows, Robbie Williams’ two-night stint in June, Iron Maiden’s headline performance, Lady Gaga’s Mayhem Ball in October, and Billie Eilish’s four-night residency.

Latest Developments

The venue recently received approval from Manchester City Council for a new canalside development, which will include a two-storey structure housing a café, bar, kitchen, and merchandise store. This expansion will accommodate approximately 600 people and serve as a second standalone events space, available for community and private hire use.

Manchester’s selection as the location for this groundbreaking venue was based on its iconic music culture and history as a live entertainment destination. Co-op Live is set to re-establish Manchester as one of the globe’s most important live music destinations, hosting not just concerts but also awards shows, international sporting events, and emerging entertainment formats.
