A Historic Move for Rangers Women

Rangers Women’s team has made a landmark decision ahead of the 2025-26 season, announcing Ibrox Stadium as their primary home venue, with Broadwood Stadium serving as a backup location for fixture clashes with the men’s team.

New Leadership and Fresh Start

The club has appointed Leanne Crichton as their new head coach, with the experienced manager signing a three-year deal in August 2025. This appointment comes after the departure of Jo Potter, who left for Crystal Palace in June 2025 following a successful tenure that saw the team secure consecutive cup doubles in the 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons.

Current Season Progress

The team kicked off their 2025-26 ScottishPower Women’s Premier League campaign with an away fixture against Montrose on August 17. Their most recent match resulted in a 2-0 defeat against Celtic Women on September 7, with their next challenge scheduled against Partick Thistle Women on September 14.

Squad Updates and Performance

The club has undergone significant squad changes, with several key players departing, including Tessel Middag, Victoria Esson, and Chelsea Cornet following their contract expirations. Additionally, veteran player Jane Ross has announced her retirement.

Looking Forward

The team’s ambitions remain high, with the potential to secure a UEFA Women’s Champions League spot for 2025/26, which will be awarded to the top two teams in the SWPL. This new chapter at Ibrox Stadium marks a significant step forward in the club’s commitment to women’s football.
