Cardiff 10K 2025: Thousands Set to Run Through Welsh Capital’s Historic Streets
Major Running Event Returns to Cardiff
The 39th Brecon Carreg CDF 10K is making its anticipated return to the Welsh capital on Sunday 7 September 2025. This prestigious event continues to be one of the most significant fixtures in Wales’s running calendar, attracting participants from across the country.
Scenic City Route
The race offers participants a spectacular sightseeing tour of Cardiff, featuring prominent landmarks including Cardiff Castle and the Principality Stadium. The route takes runners through central Cardiff’s heart, crosses the River Taff, and continues toward the leafy suburb of Pontcanna, incorporating the grade 2 listed parkland of Llandaff and Pontcanna Fields.
Event Details and Registration
The race begins at 10:00am, and participants will receive a finisher’s medal, technical race t-shirt, and live tracking through the Run 4 Wales app. Early bird registration is available at £28, offering a £4 saving compared to the general entry fee. After early bird slots are filled, general entry will cost £32, with a reduced fee of £30 for affiliated runners.
Sustainable and Accessible Event
The organizers have emphasized accessibility, with Cardiff being reachable by various transport methods including foot, bike, car, bus, and train. To promote sustainability, participants are encouraged to use active travel options such as walking or cycling, with the city offering numerous accessible cycle routes. A complimentary bike park will be available in the Event Village.

The event supports Kidney Wales as its lead charity, with participants encouraged to join #TeamKW to help raise essential funds for individuals living with chronic kidney disease in Wales. Running for charity adds an extra dimension to the experience, boosting motivation during training and race day while providing the satisfaction of helping others.
