Major September Launch Event Confirmed

Apple has scheduled its annual iPhone-centric event for Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time, where the company will unveil the iPhone 17 series.

Release Timeline and Availability

The official unveiling will take place at Apple’s Cupertino headquarters, with pre-orders beginning on September 12 and global retail availability scheduled for September 19, 2025.

Revolutionary New iPhone Lineup

The 2025 lineup introduces significant changes, with Apple launching the iPhone 17, an all-new ultra-thin iPhone 17 Air, and high-end iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max models. The company is departing from its traditional Plus model this year to make room for the innovative Air variant.

The Game-Changing iPhone 17 Air

The iPhone 17 Air, previously known as the iPhone 17 Slim, will serve as a mid-tier model positioned between the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro. It’s described as “unbelievably thin,” with a thickness of less than 5.6mm, making it slimmer than the Samsung S25 Galaxy Edge.

Technical Innovations

All models in the iPhone 17 lineup will feature LTPO displays, A19/A19 Pro processors, 50W MagSafe charging, multiple camera improvements including a 24MP TrueDepth front camera, and will run on iOS 26.

Pricing and Market Position

Pricing has been a closely watched aspect of the new lineup. According to JPMorgan analysts, Apple may maintain the iPhone 17 Pro Max’s starting price at $1,199 (£890), the same as its predecessor, contrary to earlier speculation of a significant price increase.

Looking Ahead

The new devices will come with iOS 26 preinstalled, along with additional features to be revealed at the launch event. While Apple maintains strict secrecy around specific details, substantial information has emerged through Asian supply chains, case manufacturers, and credible media reports.
