A Star-Studded Return to Nevermore

Jenna Ortega leads Wednesday Season 2 as the titular character, now serving as part-time detective and mystery author, alongside returning cast members Emma Myers, Joy Sunday, Moosa Mostafa, Georgie Farmer, Victor Dorobantu as Thing, and Hunter Doohan as Tyler Galpin.

The series has attracted an impressive lineup of new talent, including Lady Gaga, Christopher Lloyd (who previously played Uncle Fester in the 1991 Addams Family film), Joanna Lumley, Thandiwe Newton, Frances O’Connor, Haley Joel Osment, Heather Matarazzo, and Joonas Suotamo.

New Characters and Expanded Roles

At Netflix’s Tudum 2025 Live Event, it was revealed that Lady Gaga will appear as Rosaline Rotwood, described as “a legendary Nevermore teacher who crosses paths with Wednesday.” The Addams family members, including Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia, Luis Guzmán as Gomez, and Isaac Ordonez as Pugsley, will have expanded roles this season.

A Darker Turn for Season 2

According to co-showrunners Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, “This season, Wednesday’s journey is darker and more complex as she navigates family, friends, new mysteries, and old adversaries.” The protagonist will find herself plunged into a new bone-chilling supernatural mystery.

Production and Release Details

The production moved to Ireland for the second season, a change from the first season’s Romanian setting. The show’s popularity is evident from its first season performance, which ranked as Netflix’s most popular English-language series with 252 million views and spent 20 weeks in the streamer’s global Top 10.

The new season will be released in two parts, with Part 1 premiering on Wednesday, August 6, and Part 2 following on Wednesday, September 3. Each part will consist of four episodes, making it an eight-episode season in total.
