A Year of Achievements and New Ventures

Gethin Jones has been riding high on success after winning Best Presenter at the Royal Television Society North West Awards, where BBC’s Morning Live also secured awards for Best Factual and Best Inclusive Practice.

In a significant career development, Jones has been appointed as ‘chef de mission’ for Team Wales at the upcoming Commonwealth Games. This prestigious role places him as head of mission, where he will be responsible for leading, supporting, and representing the national team at the games.

Charitable Endeavors and Public Service

The BBC Morning Live presenter recently took on an ambitious challenge for Red Nose Day, participating in a 24-hour roller skating marathon alongside co-presenter Helen Skelton. The event featured special guests and celebrated four decades of fashion, fads, and music, running through day and night on BBC Morning Live.

Beyond his television work, Jones has demonstrated his entrepreneurial spirit by running his own events company and partnering with Leaf Hospitality. He has also launched a fitness app called Unifi. Additionally, inspired by his autistic nephew, he co-founded a charity called Nai, which provides seminars for parents and essential equipment for autistic children.

Health Advocacy and Personal Journey

Recently, Jones has been open about his personal health journey, sharing his surprise diagnosis of high cholesterol despite maintaining what he considered a healthy lifestyle through regular exercise and mindful eating.

Entertainment Ventures

The 47-year-old Welsh TV favourite is set to return to the stage as Prince Gethin in Sleeping Beauty in Cardiff, following his successful performance as Prince Charming in last year’s Cinderella. He will be joined by BBC Radio 2’s Owain Wyn Evans and Mike Doyle, with their previous collaboration being hailed as a ‘smash hit’ by theatre executives.
