A New Adventure Begins

Sophie Turner is set to embark on a new journey as Lara Croft in Amazon Prime Video’s upcoming ‘Tomb Raider’ live-action series, with production scheduled to begin on January 19, 2026. The series will be created and written by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, who will serve as executive producer alongside Chad Hodge as co-showrunner.

Personal and Professional Transitions

Following her return to London in 2023 after her four-year marriage to Joe Jonas ended, the ‘Game of Thrones’ actress has found renewed happiness in her native England. ‘I just feel so at home here; I never want to move again,’ Turner told Flaunt magazine, adding that living in the States made her realize the importance of having friends and family nearby for personal wellness.

Advocacy for Young Actors

Turner has recently expressed concern for the child actors cast in HBO’s upcoming ‘Harry Potter’ series, which is currently in production and targeting a 2027 premiere. She advised young performers to stay away from social media and maintain strong connections with family and friends, emphasizing the importance of having a grounding influence alongside their professional careers.

Looking Forward

Turner has revealed her future career aspirations, expressing interest in projects that inspire change and personal growth. She particularly aims to work on unique, niche projects similar to A24-style productions. Regarding her new role as Lara Croft, Turner expressed her excitement, stating she is ‘thrilled beyond measure’ to play such an iconic character, while acknowledging the impressive performances of her predecessors Angelina Jolie and Alicia Vikander.
